The Red Scarf

A red scarf thrown on  a lavender sea.

Of what bruised heart he was the confidant?

Waves falling from the hill,

Vibrating light occulting the afterlife.

I know of what is made your melancholia, your disappointed hopes, this so long expectation which precedes the renunciation.

A red rag rolled in my hand, offended as a parchment.

I shall come, I shall come tomorrow, to mop your sadness, to wipe your tears, to draw you a field of lavender where you can lie, impertinent and naked.
